Arizona State Wrestling 



After 5 years of taking over the Helm from Thom Ortiz. 

Coach Shawn Charles will be stepping down . 

ASU will be making the announcement soon for the New Head Coach . 

Arizona State has had some great wrestlers like : 

Anthony Robles 3x, Eric Larkin 4x, Cain Velasquez 2x , 

Townsend Saunders 2x, Marco Sanchez 2x, Bubba Jenkins 2x, 

Aaron Simpson 2x, Ryan Bader 2x, Dan Severn 2x. 

Including the last two Head Coaches Thom Ortiz 3x All American 

and Shawn Charles 4x All American

Arizona State has turned out to be a Mecca for Mix Martial Arts

 

Looks like it could be a former Sun Devil 3x All American and Silver Medalist. 

Six years as the Head Coach for the USA Freestyle Olympic Team. 

The Legendary Zeke Jones. 

If so that could drive the wrestling program back up and be a top contender

in the D1 for ASU. Could also bring back some of wrestling top recruits. 

Former Head Coach Bobby Douglas could be utilized for ASU being the 

HOF Iconic that he is.

But maybe I am wrong and they are going to look outside former ASU Wrestlers.
