By US Elite Combat | November 5, 2015

(PRESS RELEASE) — Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, has signed a broadcast deal to add Takedown Wrestling Media’s two traditional wrestling weekly news programs to its schedule – Takedown Wrestling and USA Wrestling Weekly.

The International programming deal with Fight Network is both important and strategic, increasing the number of homes receiving the wrestling news programs to 59 million homes first-run 52 weeks per year.

Fight Network’s market penetration includes Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Grande Communications, Shentel Cable and Armstrong Cable in the U.S., nationwide in Canada, Roku devices across North America, and globally in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Beginning on Nov. 5 and premiering every Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. ET, Takedown Wrestling provides extensive coverage of amateur wrestling events, including the latest news, behind-the-scenes access and exclusive interviews.

Starting on Nov. 8, USA Wrestling Weekly will premiere on Saturdays with host Scott Casber presenting weekly news and analysis centering around USA Wrestling, the sport’s national governing body, including interviews, features and a look back at the past.

“Takedown Wrestling Media is excited to grow our partnership with Fight Network to keep fans up to date on the world of wrestling,” said Scott Casber, founder of Takedown Wrestling Media. “College and international styles alike will benefit from the wide and growing distribution of Fight Network.”

Casber’s views were mirrored by Leonard Asper, CEO of Anthem Media Group Inc., which operates Fight Network: “Wrestling holds a special place in the world of combat sports and Takedown’s coverage will enable our viewers to stay plugged into wrestling at every level. Through this partnership, Fight Network grappling fans can access the finest worldwide wrestling coverage available.”

USA Wrestling’s president James Ravanack added: “The increased coverage of USA Wrestling events and its athletes will serve to continue wrestling’s growth, especially in the United States. We’re confident that wrestling’s growth in the U.S. and around the world will benefit from the increased coverage and expanded distribution from our relationship with Fight Network.”

The agreement between Takedown Wrestling Media and Fight Network will work toward coverage of events (both live and taped) along with airing the traditional news shows they’ve produced over the years.
